    A. J
. is a 15 year old Vervet Guenon who has been Sweet Pea's cage mate for most of their lives.  He also came
from a Zoo/Educational facility that discontinued the display of primates.  He has been a resident since September 2005.

    Picture
Precious is a 14 year old Java
    Macaque.  She was also
rescued from Ohio with Harley.  Harley and Precious have lived together for
about 10 years and are still cage mates.

Dylan is a 7 year Java Macaque.  He was rescued from Nevada.  His family moved thereand his owner had taken a new job that required him to work 60 plus hours a week which did not leave much time for Dylan.  He did not want Dylan to suffer as he was used to a lot of human interaction and attention.  Sophie's Haven made the trip to Nevada to pick Dylan up.  Dylan is a very sweet and very spoiled little boy.Dylan and Abou are best friends and have been for the past 6 years.  Dylan & Mia have also become quite fond of one another.  Dylan has been a
    permanent resident since August 2004.

    Jack
was purchased by a very sweet lady & after owning him for 2 weeks, she decided he was a little to much for her to handle & contacted us to please give Jack a forever, loving home.  I have to say, Jack is a VERY active monkey...LOL.  I think he must
    suffer from ADD..(just kidding)

    Ronnie
(9.5 lbs) was used as a Therapy Monkey & taken to Nursing homes by his owner along with his life long mate, Daisy Mae.  After having them for about 5 years, circumstances arose to prohibit her from owning them any longer.  They were sold seperately (Owner was told they would stay together) and Ronnie was purchased by one person from an Animal Auction in Ohio & then re-sold to someone in Nebraska.  After having him for less than a week, this owner wanted to re-sale him to someone else who changed their mind about purchasing him...In the meantime, her daughter took him out to change his diaper & he escaped through a doggie door (for the second time-the first time being gone for approx. 5 hours)....The owners son shot at him a few times with a pellet gun, hitting him with a pellet twice.  The owner contacted Sophie's Haven asking us to come help find him and pick him up as she was angry that when he escaped from her daughter who also had their baby gibbon out at the same time for a diaper change, he bite the gibbon before exiting the doggy door.  Ronnie ran free for several days in the woods in very cold temperatures before being trapped by the Central Nebraska Humane Society who I have to say were Amazing people to work with...and we will forever be in their debt for saving our sweet little Ronnie....After being notified of his capture by the Humane Society, we drove to Nebraska to pick him up...In the meantime the owner tried to sell him to someone else who tried to pick him up from the Humane Society...Thankfully, Sophie's Haven was awarded ownership of Ronnie.
